- Identify the critical 20% of activities or efforts that yield 80% of the desired outcomes and prioritize them over less important tasks.
- Work smarter, not harder. Focus on maximizing efficiency in the tasks that deliver the most significant results rather than trying to do everything.
- Streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary complexity to increase effectiveness and productivity.
- Develop a strategic mindset by focusing on high-leverage activities that align with long-term goals and objectives.
- Recognize that not all decisions are equally important. Focus your time and energy on decisions that have the most significant impact on your goals and outcomes.
- Identify and leverage resources, talents, and opportunities that contribute the most to your success.
- Embrace a continuous improvement mindset by regularly evaluating and refining your strategies and processes.
- Remain flexible and adaptable in the face of changing circumstances. Be willing to adjust your approach as needed to stay aligned with your objectives.
- Recognize and mitigate potential risks that could derail your progress toward your goals.
- Seek balance and harmony in your life by focusing on what truly matters and letting go of unnecessary distractions or obligations.

Never Let Yourself Be Defeated
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”
― Maya Angelou
“Winners are not those who never lose, they are the ones who never quit.”
Sometimes you may not win. But that is not your defeat. You are defeated only when you accept it. You must never accept your defeat at the first occurrence. In the game of baseball, if a batter swings and misses the first pitch, it doesn’t mean that he is out.
Improve Your Life
“The key to happiness is really progress and growth and constantly working on yourself and developing something.” —Lewis Howes
Self-improvement, improvement of one’s mind, character, habits, and life through one’s own efforts. Life only changes as a result of the improvements you make by the actions you take.
Here are 10 Things You Should Do Every Day to improve your life.
1) Get out in nature
You probably seriously underestimate how important this is. (Actually, there’s research that says you do.) Being in nature reduces stress, makes you more creative, improves your memory and may even make you a better person.
2) Exercise
We all know how important this is, but few people do it consistently. Other than health benefits too numerous to mention, exercise makes you smarter, happier, improves sleep, increases libido and makes you feel better about your body. A Harvard study that has tracked a group of men for more than 70 years identified it as one of the secrets to a good life.
3) Spend time with friends and family
Harvard happiness expert Daniel Gilbert identified this as one of the biggest sources of happiness in our lives. Relationships are worth more than you think (approximately an extra $131,232 a year.) Not feeling socially connected can make you stupider and kill you. Loneliness can lead to heart attack, stroke and diabetes. The longest lived people on the planet all place a strong emphasis on social engagement and good relationships are more important to a long life than even exercise. Friends are key to improving your life. Share good news and enthusiatically respond when others share good news with you to improve your relationships. Want to instantly be happier? Do something kind for them.
Every morning send a friend, family member or co-worker an email (or text) to say thanks for something. There’s tons of research showing that over time, this alone – one simple email a day – can make you happier.
Harvard professor Shawn Achor’s The Happiness Advantage explains:
“This is why I often ask managers to write an e-mail of praise or thanks to a friend, family member, or colleague each morning before they start their day’s work—not just because it contributes to their own happiness, but because it very literally cements a relationship.”
4) Express gratitude
Gratitude is more powerful than you realize. In an experiment, people were asked to spend some time helping a student improve a job application cover letter. After they sent their feedback, the student replied with a message, “I just wanted to let you know that I received your feedback on my cover letter,” and asked for help with another one in the next three days. Only 32% of the people helped. When the student added just eight words—“Thank you so much! I am really grateful”—the rate of helping doubled to 66%.
In another experiment, after people helped one student, a different student asked them for help. Being thanked by the first student boosted helping rates from 25% to 55%. The punch line: a little thanks goes a long way, not only for encouraging busy people to help you, but also for motivating them to help others like you.
Plus, by expressing gratitude:
- It will make you happier.
- It will improve your relationships.
- It can make you a better person.
- It can make life better for everyone around you.
5) Meditate
Meditation can increase happiness, meaning in life, social support and attention span while reducing anger, anxiety, depression and fatigue. Along similar lines, prayer can make you feel better — even if you’re not religious.
6) Get enough sleep
You can’t cheat yourself on sleep and not have it affect you. Being tired actually makes it harder to be happy. Lack of sleep = more likely to get sick. “Sleeping on it” does improve decision making. Lack of sleep can make you more likely to behave unethically. There is such a thing as beauty sleep.
Naps are great too. Naps increase alertness and performance on the job, enhance learning ability and purge negative emotions while enhancing positive ones. Here’s how to improve your naps.
7) Challenge yourself
Learning another language can keep your mind sharp. Music lessons increase intelligence. Challenging your beliefs strengthens your mind. Increasing willpower just takes a little effort each day and it’s more responsible for your success than IQ. Not getting an education or taking advantage of opportunities are two of the things people look back on their lives and regret the most.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” Ernest Hemingway
8) Laugh
People who use humor to cope with stress have better immune systems, reduced risk of heart attack and stroke, experience less pain during dental work and live longer. Laughter should be like a daily vitamin. Just reminiscing about funny moments can improve your relationship. Humor has many benefits.
9) Touch someone
Touching can reduce stress, improve team performance, and help you be persuasive. Hugs make you happier. Intimate contact may help prevent heart attacks and cancer, improve your immune system and extend your life.
10) Be optimistic
Optimism can make you healthier, happier and extend your life. The Army teaches it in order to increase mental toughness in soldiers. Being confident improves performance.
Bonus:
Email a good friend and make plans.
Research says that to keep friendships alive, you should stay in touch every 2 weeks.
Got 14 friends, then you need to be emailing somebody every day and making plans to get together. Research shows the best use of electronic communication, like email or social media, is to facilitate face-to-face interaction:
The results were unequivocal. “The greater the proportion of face-to-face interactions, the less lonely you are,” John T. Cacioppo, author of “Loneliness: Human Nature and the Need for Social Connection” says. “The greater the proportion of online interactions, the lonelier you are.”
Facebook is merely a tool, and like any tool, its effectiveness will depend on its user. “If you use Facebook to increase face-to-face contact,” Cacioppo says, “it increases social capital.” So if social media let you organize a game of football among your friends, that’s healthy. If you turn to social media instead of playing football, however, that’s unhealthy.

Thought of the Day
There are no limitations to the mind conditioned for success and achievement.
“Try as hard as you wish and you cannot be happy unless you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
Work with all the strength at your command and you cannot accumulate more than barely enough to live on unless you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
The one and only person in all this world through whose efforts you can be supremely happy under all circumstances, and, through whose labor you can accumulate all the material wealth that you can use legitimately, is YOURSELF!” —Napoleon Hill
When you believe in your ability to succeed…you completely transform your life.
Thought of the Day
“You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.” ~ C.S. Lewis
The legendary Alexander the Great, king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia, lived only to the young age of 32, but he built a great empire. During his 13 year reign, he conquered the eastern Mediterranean, Egypt, the Middle East, and parts of Asia in a remarkably short period of time.
You don’t need to match Alexander the Great’s accomplishments, but think intently about what you want out of life. And, once you do, focus on your burning desire in life and chase it with all your energy.
We never know when our journey will come to an end.
Your Powerful Thoughts and Mind
“You will attract to you…the very things, or the very station in life, that you create in your thoughts.” —Napoleon Hill
The most powerful tool available to you is your mind and you can attract the very things you create in your thoughts and mind, writes Napoleon Hill, America’s most followed motivational author about the principles of success. “Your thoughts singularly determine your personal outcomes in life, as well as your ability to enjoy the journey,” he opines.
In order to harness your thoughts to create the life you desire, you simply need to utilize the mental resources already within your possession, Hill concluded. You must cultivate a thorough understanding of the workings of the mind and the manner in which thoughts may be transformed into their physical counterparts.
In order to create positive change in your life, you must learn to harness the power of your thoughts. In particular, you must discover how to:
- Magnetize your thought impulses with desire
- Refine your thoughts with definiteness of purpose
- Control and direct your emotions to productive ends
- Support your goals with a compelling network of motives
- Create positive thought habits through concentration and repetition
- Protect your mind from negative external influences
The more you practice, the greater control you will have over your thoughts and emotions, which will enable you to enjoy more success in the pursuit of your definite major purpose.
Essentially, Dr. Hill wrote that there are no limitations to the mind conditioned for success and achievement.
By understanding and embracing the power of thought and your mind, you will be able to operate at a higher plane of thought and action, better recognizing opportunities, gaining influence, and instilling this critical quality in others.
According to Napoleon Hill (Law of Success), self-confidence is…
- the banishment of fear
- the acquisition of mental courage
- a safeguard from failure and defeat
- the foundation for high achievement
- the secret to attracting opportunities
- the impetus for taking action on your dreams
- the crucial ingredient for healthy relationships
- the key to personal freedom and joy
When you believe in your ability to succeed…you completely transform your life.
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale
Most people take their joys and blessings for granted. Instead of focusing on their joys and blessings, they rather focus on what they do not have; or, constantly think and complain about their problems and troubles.
But, changing your focus and thoughts from problems to joy, and from what you don’t have to expressing gratitude for your many life blessings will change your life. And, a great way to change your thoughts is to appreciate and enjoy what you already have.
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” ~ Melody Beattie
Focus on changing your thoughts and focus instead of changing the world and environment around you
It is impossible to change the world or environment around you. The best and wisest course of action is to change yourself or at least change your thoughts and attitude towards the people or situations you do not like.
“Never underestimate your power to change yourself; never overestimate your power to change others.” ~ Wayne Dyer

Failure is Always an Option
“Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough.” ~ Elon Musk
Most people are afraid of failure. Yet, there is nothing new about failure, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of either. No one wants to fail at what they do, especially if it’s something they’re very invested in.
Elon Musk has a very simple way of not letting the prospect of failure get in his way, according to Jenny Medeiros at Goalcast. He doesn’t avoid failure or hope that it doesn’t happen, instead, he anticipates that it will occur.
Getting comfortable with the idea of failing isn’t easy. But there are steps, according to Medeiros, you can take to create a well-thought contingency plan when failure happens.
- Take a pen and paper right and write down a project you’ve always been meaning to start but haven’t due to the fear of not being successful.
- Now, write down the absolute worst-case scenario for that project. It could be losing money, wasting time, public embarrassment, etc.
- Next, break down the causes of this worst-case scenario. Then cross out the ones that are out of your control.
- Finally, write a contingency plan for each cause you can control. If you’re worried that no one will want to buy your designer socks, your plan could be to re-use those designs on other products like t-shirts or even notebooks.
The important thing here is to always expect and be willing to embrace failure, and be ready for it. Only then will it stop being the reason you don’t move forward with your goals.
Surrendering to failure is never the answer. Instead, learning from your mistakes is the best gift you can give yourself to improve not only whatever new invention, business venture or dream you undertake, but to evolve as individual, leader and innovator.
Musk learned from his own mistakes. He says:
“Constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself.”
“The biggest lesson you can learn from Musk is to never, ever give up on your goals,” writes Bonnie Burton in an Inc Magazine article. “Life has a pesky way of placing big obstacles in your path — whether it be unmotivated employees, health emergencies, failed experiments, impostor syndrome and so many more unexpected roadblocks.”

Major Definite Purpose
“A man without a definite major purpose is as helpless as a ship without a compass.” – Napoleon Hill
Napoleon Hill emphasized in his book “Think and Grow Rich” that the first step of learning how to “Think and Grow Rich” is figuring out what you desire more than anything else – and then coming up with a plan to act on it.
Hill puts a great importance on individuals deciding on a definite major purpose. Yet, it’s not unheard of for people to get stuck on this first step.
In fact, the #1 question that most ask is: “How do I determine what my definite major purpose is? I just don’t know what it is I want to do!”
It is said widely that ninety-five percent of the people of the world drift through life aimlessly without definite purposes for their lives.
Psychological reason for having a definite purpose in life implies that one’s actions are determined by the thoughts of one’s mind. Therefore, if you deliberately hold your definite purpose in your mind with the expectation of it realization, this will permeate your subconscious mind to the point where it will automatically influence the actions needed to achieve your definite purpose.
Once you determine your definite purpose, make sure that it is well-defined. You must write it down and place it where you can see it as soon as you open your eyes in the morning and the last thing that you see before you close your eyes at night.
What is your Life’s Mission? What is the number one purpose in your life? Why are you here? What are the most important accomplishments you desire? And what are you willing to give in return for them?
What one great thing would you dare to dream if you knew you could not fail, asks Brian Tracy?
“If you could be absolutely guaranteed of successfully achieving any goal, large or small, short term or long term, what one goal would it be? Whatever you answer to this question, if you can write it down, you can probably achieve it. From then on, the only question you should ask is, ‘How?’ The only real limit is how badly you want it and how long you are willing to work toward it.” Brian Tracy
Once you know your bigger purpose, it’s easier to figure out your next actions. And, when you know your bigger purpose, it can help you funnel your time, talent, energy, and effort into something that really matters to you.
Definite Purpose:
If you cannot see the end of the journey, you cannot plot the course to that destination.
Thus, it’s essential to determine “The one goal that is most important to you at the moment. It is usually the one goal that will help you to achieve more of your other goals than anything else you can accomplish,” Tracy writes. In his, “6 Attributes of Your Major Definite Purpose,” Tracy writes:
- Your major definite purpose must be something that you personally really want, excites you and makes you happy.
- Your major definite purpose must be clear and specific. You must be able to define it in words and must be able to write it down.
- Your major definite purpose must be measurable and quantifiable.
- Your major definite purpose must be both believable and achievable.
- Your major definite purpose should have a reasonable probability of success.
- Your major definite purpose must be in harmony with your other goals and aligned with your values.
“Decide now what you desire from life and what you have to give in return.”
To achieve success, you have know exactly what you want and what you are willing to give-up in return….success and achievement are a two-way street.

Health is Real Wealth
The real wealth are healthy habits such as a healthy diet, exercise, regular sleep.
Keeping your priorities straight is a challenge, but it’s essential to prioritize your health. Without a healthy body, everything you’re working for doesn’t mean much.
Finances and health are nearly impossible to separate. After all, health care costs money, and making money is a lot simpler when you’re healthy. You may be thinking you just don’t have time to focus on healthy habits like a balanced diet, exercise, or sleep.
One study showed that medical expenses and disabilities may account for two-thirds of bankruptcies in the U.S. Even if that stat is skewed, we all know that medical costs can be really tough for the average family to handle. Keeping yourself healthy can prevent a ton of extra costs.
Many of the key steps to a healthy, happy and longer life are simple and within reach of almost all of us. Master these three science-based healthy habits and you’ll high-five your way to feeling great.
1. Exercise regularly
Exercise is the one thing in life you can do to live a longer, healthier life. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ranks exercise sky-high on its bucket list of activities.
“Only a few lifestyle choices have as large an impact on your health as physical activity,” says our nation’s top health organization.
The healthiest way to improve the quality of your sleep: exercise
“People who are physically active for about 150 minutes a week have a 33% lower risk of all-cause mortality than those who are physically inactive.”
If you get up and move at least 150 minutes each week, you cut your risk of dying by one-third.
In addition, exercise — even just walking at a moderate pace — has been shown to improve cognitive function, help you control your weight, reduce your risk for disease and, of course, strengthen your bones and muscles.
Some benefits are immediate: After finishing one 30-minute physical activity you’ll have less anxiety, lower blood pressure, more sensitivity to insulin and you’ll sleep better that night.
Get the recommended 150 to 300 minutes a week for adults of moderate-intensity exercise — such as brisk walking, dancing, bicycling, doubles tennis and water aerobics — as the benefits go up.
2. Eat a healthy plant-based diet
Keeping a healthy weight — defined by doctors as having a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 24.9 — is another key way to stay healthy and reduce your risk of all manner of diseases and conditions.
There are lots of excellent diets out there to help you lose and keep your weight under control, which focuses on food to slow cognitive decline, and the Flexitarian Diet, which combines the words flexible and vegetarian.
Replace red meat with plant protein or dairy to live longer, two new studies suggests Science has shown that a plant-based, meaning you’ll eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds, can reduce the risk for diabetes, high cholesterol, stroke, dementia, memory loss, depression and breast cancer.
Use all kinds and colors of veggies to get the broadest range of nutrients, phytochemicals and fiber. Cook, roast or garnish them with herbs and a bit of extra virgin olive oil.
Add whole grains and fruit to every meal, but use nuts and seeds as a garnish or small snack due to their high calorie and fat content.
You’ll also eat less red meat, sugar, processed foods, and saturated fat and more omega-3-rich fish (twice a week) and olive oil. Think of chicken, beef and pork as a “seasoning” to a dish, instead of the main course.
Eat less meat and more plants
The real secret to the success of a plant base diet — it’s not dieting at all. It’s a lifestyle, with the greatest emphasis placed on exercise, mindfully eating with friends and family and socializing over meals.
3. Get good-quality sleep
You may choose to exercise or eat healthy, but your body is going to demand sleep. The quantity and quality of it, however, is essential and under your control. Sleep is as important for good health as diet and exercise. Good sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health.
Not getting enough quality sleep regularly raises the risk of many diseases and disorders. These range from heart disease and stroke to obesity and dementia
If you’re not sticking to a regular sleep schedule, you’re hurting your health since experts recommend that school-age children get at least nine hours a night and teens get between eight and 10. Most adults need at least seven hours or more of sleep each night.
Getting less has been linked in studies to high blood pressure, a weakened immune system, weight gain, a lack of libido, mood swings, paranoia, depression and a higher risk of diabetes, stroke, cardiovascular disease, dementia and some cancers.
Sleeping less than the recommended amount each night on a regular basis may double your risk of dying. In a longitudinal study, researchers found that those who reduced their sleep from seven to five hours or fewer a night were almost twice as likely to die from all causes, especially cardiovascular disease.
Additionally, your chances of developing a major disease or medical condition skyrocket if you don’t get enough sleep. That’s because during sleep, your body is literally repairing and restoring itself on a cellular level.
One sleep myth is that you can “catch up” on your days off. Researchers are finding that this largely isn’t the case. “If you have one bad night’s sleep and take a nap, or sleep longer the next night, that can benefit you,” says Wright. “But if you have a week’s worth of getting too little sleep, the weekend isn’t sufficient for you to catch up. That’s not a healthy behavior.”
Takeaway…there are actions you can take to help reduce your stress, improve your mood and to be well on your way to a happier, healthier life.
When you adopt healthy habits in one area of your life, those habits tend to have a ripple effect on other areas. For example, when you’re exercising regularly, you’re also more likely to eat healthy foods and get regular sleep.
These reasons should be adequate for you to prioritize your health and to convince you to live healthier, even if health itself isn’t enough of a reward.

Working on Your Goals and Expressing Gratitude Everyday
“With whatever you are struggling to master in your life, create a small habit or routine that gets you one step closer to it each and every day. ” Brendon Burchard
Now more than ever is the time to really appreciate the small, meaningful moments in life. It’s time you stop waiting for ” the anvil of purpose” to fall onto your head and suddenly everything, like life’s vision, purpose and meaning, become clear!
Instead, sit down with yourself and really think about what that purpose, that meaning, that vision for your life can really be.
There is no better time than the present to start this journey of self-exploration and find the ways in which you can truly feel alive, fulfilled, and happy in this life.
Thus, it’s important to make getting better everyday and self-improvement a way of life. It’s important to:
- Begin the journey to think about and clarify your life’s vision, purpose and meaning.
- Focus more on expressing gratitude and incorporating everyday wins back into your week and taking the time to appreciate them and let them sink in.
- Focus more on your habits and long-term goals, and connecting back to your vision and purpose.
In the past, how many times did you achieve something or have special moments with your kids, spouse or friends, only to quickly move on to the next thing?
Life is so short to breeze by these special moments and not appreciate them. Really take the time to feel the day and fill your heart with gratitude. You’ll be happier too!
There’s still time to reclaim your day and schedule activities that add real value and meaning back into your routine. By pursuing your dream for 2 minutes or even 30 minutes every single day.
Don’t wait until next weekend when you might have the time for your goals and vision. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed and that big dream of yours isn’t going to materialize if you keep pushing it off.
Break down your big audacious goals into quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Work on your goals every single day and you will move the needle in your progress and success.
Additionally, if you want to achieve your goals, you should develop a growth mindset. A growth mindset allows you to explore more, take more risks, try new things, and grow more into what you’re capable.
The Power of Reflection
Clarity only happens when you reflect on your long term goals, habits and relationships — daily. It might be time to take a hard, unflinching look at your own performance in these important areas of your life.
When you live a life with intention each day, that brings about true purpose and meaning to your life. And when your days are filled with more purpose and meaning — more happiness and fulfillment tends to follow. And isn’t that the ultimate goal? To live a happy, purposeful and meaningful life.
Personal growth, goals and purpose are things that must be worked on everyday, otherwise you will lose touch with them.
